Design complexity, mask cost and difficulty in small feature size cost have led to the adoption of platform based design and the resurgence of structured ASICs across the semiconductor industry.

The project will investigate the incorporation of reconfigurable elements into a system-on-chip architecture to provide additional flexibility.
