The proposed research covers home networking, specifically that of wired networking using the existing infrastructure of either phone lines or power lines.

The research will cover high level modelling of the transmission environment and means to transport data effectively through this environment. It will also address how solutions can be built into SoC devices.

Guidance and input will be provided by Cadence, and some of the research is likely to involve hardware prototyping of some of the possible architectures that are developed as part of the research.
