The objective of this research project will be to generate a general purpose computational electromagnetics model on a parallel FPGA computer in order that it may analyse antennas on structure and finite arrays.

A number of suitable algorithms already published in the literature may be suitable for the project, with Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) being the most common. The final decision regarding which algorithm to use to programme onto a set of parallel processors will be made jointly by the research student, sponsor and academic supervisor.
